Some people never really leave.
They become the light we walk by.

A life, counted the way he counted

He kept ledgers all his working life. But the ledger he really cared about was the one where kindness is the only entry that never goes out of balance.

In his own words

A father's farewell, written by a father

From his poem “ओ लाड़ली”, written for the day a daughter leaves home. Read it once, slowly. Then read it again as if he were reading it to you.

शिकायत तो होगी अगर जो कभी टोकी हो तेरी डगर करूँ क्या? बाप हूँ डरता रहा मगर साथ रहा तेरे हर गली - जो मिली ओ लाड़ली!

You may hold a complaint, if ever I stopped you on your way. What could I do? I am a father; I was always afraid. But I walked beside you down every lane you found. O Laadli!

— Brij Mohan Sharma, “Oh Laadli”

His partner in every lamp he lit

Kusum Sharma कुसुम शर्मा

Every diya needs a hand that shields the flame from the wind. For all those years, that hand was hers.

When he gave his daughters the courage to fly, she gave them a home to return to. The values that Neeti, Kriti, Shakti and Mukti carry onto every stage were not taught by one parent. They were the daily harvest of a home that Brij Mohan and Kusum Sharma built together, side by side.

Her name means flower. A flower does not ask anything of the season. It opens, gives its fragrance to whoever passes, and blooms again. That is how love looked in their home.

दीया उन्होंने जलाया, पर लौ को हवा से उसने बचाया।He lit the lamp; she kept its flame safe from the wind.

Vision · Mission · Objectives

What he lived for, and what we now carry

Drawn from his life and his seven books, as Sanatan Labs understands them and pledges to carry forward.

Vision

When the ledger and the soul balance

A world where every person works with skill and integrity, every home is a classroom of values, and every daughter flies with her sanskaar into a sky of her own.

जहाँ बही-खाता और आत्मा दोनों संतुलित हों: हर कर्म में कौशल, हर घर में संस्कार, और हर बेटी के पंखों में अपना आसमान।

Mission

Make the Gita a way of living

To carry his books, his poems and his way of life to every age and every language: make the Gita practical for the common man, tell the complete story behind every incomplete name, and keep a ledger of kindness.

गीता को आम आदमी के जीवन का मार्ग बनाना, हर अधूरे नाम की पूरी कहानी कहना, और नेकी का बही-खाता रखना।

  1. Preserve his literary legacyKeep all seven of his books in Hindi and English alive, read and discussed, from Ek Tukda Dhoop Ka to Gita Today.
  2. Make the Gita practicalBring the Gita into offices, markets and homes, as he did in Gita Today and the Life Lessons from Gitaji series.
  3. Empower daughters and womenDo for every girl what he did for his four: clear the stones from her path, shield her, and let her fly.
  4. Choose effort over fatalismDestiny gives the frame; effort and skill write the chapter. The heart of Life Lessons from Gitaji: on Efforts & Success.
  5. See the whole personNo one is just a label. Every ordinary life deserves its piece of sunlight, as Badman and Ek Tukda Dhoop Ka show.
  6. Find God in kindnessLook for the divine in honest work and quiet help, the question at the heart of his book God.

Women empowerment · the father of four daughters

When a daughter rises, the world rises.

In a time when many homes chose “safe” careers for their girls, he and Kusum ji chose freedom together. Classical stages, music, media, choreography, data science: whatever his daughters dreamed, his answer was the same. Steady encouragement, quiet vigilance, total support.

Neeti

नीतिethics · the right way

The compass he placed in her hands: integrity before applause.

Kriti

कृतिcreation · structure

The discipline to build, the same discipline he brought to every ledger.

Shakti

शक्तिenergy · action

The courage he gave her to step onto national and global stages.

Mukti

मुक्तिfreedom · release

Freedom to choose her own path, and the calm to let go of what does not matter.

“A true mentor does not dictate the path you must walk; instead, they clear the stones from your feet, light a lamp in the dark, and give you the courage to fly.”The Eternal Rhythm, Chapter 2 · “The Patriarch of Dreams”
